Joy, dedication and effort at Swimathon Bucharest where Rotas teams swam over 80 pools for 15 children from Tunari to go to prolonged kindergarten!

The project aims to support 15 children from disadvantaged families (pre-school age) for one year at the long-term kindergarten in Tunari, Ilfov. According to Ovidiu Ro, 98% of the Romanian children attending the kindergarten daily also enroll in the primary school where they have good schooling because they have already acquired socialization and learning skills from the pre-school cycle. For children from vulnerable environments, these skills are all the more important because education is one of their few chances to break the vicious circle of poverty. The Rotas Association wishes to be able to support a number of 15 children at the Tunari-prolonged kindergarden during the next school year (2017-2018). Currently, the association helps about 80 children of all ages, but a sustained effort is needed to ensure that the children have access to a warm daily meal, an environment where they can play and learn safety.

Project purpose:

Education and a daily hot meal for 15 pre-school children from Tunari, Ilfov County.

Project Duration:
September 2017 - June 2018

Results:

-Payment of the monthly contribution for 4 months (school year 2017-2018) at the Tunari Kindergarten for 15 children (includes a hot meal a day and snacks);
